What is Dual Enrollment? 

Dual Enrollment is a program that gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college-level courses and receive college credits, while still attending high school! 

Who is eligible for Dual Enrollment?

High School juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) may participate. 

How do I apply?

Students apply for admission to St. Thomas University’s Dual Enrollment program via their high school’s Dual Enrollment liaison. Once accepted, the student registers for Dual Enrollment courses.

Where are the Dual Enrollment classes taught?

Students take Dual Enrollment courses at their high school location.

Who teaches the Dual Enrollment courses?

Dual Enrollment courses are taught by St. Thomas University professors and/or high school professors (who meet St. Thomas University’s criteria). 

When are courses offered? 

Courses are offered in the fall and spring semesters.

Are Dual Enrollment course credits transferable?

All course credits received in the Dual Enrollment program are accepted by St. Thomas University and are generally tranferable to other colleges and univerisities.

What courses does the Dual Enrollment Program offer? 

Each high school has their own set of courses that they offer. Dual Enrollment courses offered at participating high schools are the equivalent of St. Thomas University undergraduate courses, as listed in its undergraduate catalog.

How much does a course cost?

The cost per credit is $50.00. Most courses are three (3) credits each, for a total of $150.00 per course for the Archdiocesan schools.

How can I pay for a course?

>Acceptable forms of payment are as follows:

    • Personal check (made payable to St. Thomas University);
    • Money order or cashier’s check;
    • Florida Prepaid College Program (student must fill out form);

    • St. Thomas University offers Dual Enrollment students a drastically reduced tuition rate (ovre 76% off regular tuition)
    • Students who enroll in St. Thomas University’s Dual Enrollment program are given automatic admission to St. Thomas University (upon completion of admissions paperwork)
    • Full access to St. Thomas University’s resource, such as:
      • University’s library services
      • University e-mail account
      • FACTS system (Florida Academic Counseling & Tracking for Students)
