Clinton Global Initiative Partners with STU on Haiti Solidarity

The Clinton Global Initiative has officially placed St. Thomas University as a partner in light of its 2010 STU/Port-de-Paix, Haiti, Global Solidarity Partnership (STU GSP) commitment to action. This historic program leverages university and South Florida resources into three long-term collaborative development projects with Miami Archdiocese’s sister-diocese of Port-de-Paix in Haiti, which is a most isolated spot in the poorest country region. Through a combination of faculty research, curriculum development, student engagement and community outreach the STU GSP will engage students, faculty and staff in a concentrated, effective effort to empower the local communities of Haiti's Northwest, and build the economic infrastructure needed to aid in the region's long-term development.
