Human Trafficking Conference

 

St. Thomas University Institute for Human Rights hosted a conference on Human Rights and Human Trafficking September 13, 2010. The meaningful discussion on the issue of public-private partnership to help solve these issues was titled: The Fourth “P”: Combating Trafficking in Persons through the Public-Private Partnership, and hosted the following speakers:

  • Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, United States Congress
  • Ambassador Louis CdeBaca, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State
    Director, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking In Persons U.S. Department of State
  • Rev. Msgr. Franklin Casale, President St. Thomas University
  • Prof. Dr. Roza Pati, Executive DirectorLL.M./ J.S.D. Program in Intercultural Human Rights St. Thomas University School of Law
  • Maria Jose Fletcher, Esq., Director of LUCHA— Women’s Legal Program, Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center
  • Suzy Cop, Member of the Florida Statewide Task Force on Human Trafficking, International Rescue Committee
