STU Graduate Student Starred in Local Short Film

Electronic Media Master’s in Communication student Jonathan Sanchez starred in his first movie as the protagonist. The short film, Tierra Avocado by Mayra Barriga, was recently successfully premiered at Miami Dade College North Campus. The film reflects on tragic events immigrant farm workers endure in California because of unfair work conditions. Tierra Avocado will be competing in different film festivals in South Florida. Jonathan’s next film, Brown Book, will be screened at the UM Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival next year.
