St. Thomas University School of Law Team Excels at
Law Moot Court Competition

The St. Thomas University School of Law Moot Court Team excelled at the 2010 South-East Super Regional of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which was held at Florida International University College of Law.
The student team represented by Lazarita Chumpitazi, J.D. ’11, Carem Corvaia, J.D. ’11, Allen Gaffney, J.D. ’11, and Leyla Nikjou, LL.M. ‘10 and coached by Angela Jones, J.D. ‘10 turned in an extraordinary performance, winning three out of four rounds, beating Washington & Lee, Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
Student Leyla Nikjou won the supreme honor of Best Oralist. More than 90 students from 24 teams from all over the Southeastern U.S. competed for this highest award. This is the best oralist placement ever achieved by a St. Thomas University student in this prestigious competition.
