Students Learn Florida History in St. Augustine, FL

St. Thomas University students of the Florida Studies class visited the historical city of St. Augustine, Florida, under the guidance of history professor Dr. Francis Sicius. Among the sites visited by the students on the weekend of September 25 were the Spanish Mission "Nombre de Dios," the seventeenth century fortress "Castillo San Marcos" and the "Spanish Quarter," a living museum which depicts life in18th century St. Augustine. As part of the requirements for this class, students write a paper --based on their site visits--on life in Spanish colonial Florida"
