The mission of the EARDA Research Development Program (RDP) is to foster an environment that
encourages research, scholarly inquiry and creative activities by the faculty and students through training, technical assistance and the acquisition of extramural funding.

   Explanation

A key part of the Mission of St. Thomas University is that STU

"… places a priority on excellence in teaching, and encourages service and research"

St. Thomas University recognizes that the best way to serve is through the joy of searching for truth, and a quest for goodness and excellence in the context of academic freedom and the heritage of the Catholic intellectual and artistic traditions.

The University encourages research, scholarship, artistic and creative productions.  Such research and scholarship is required for its graduate and professional faculty.  A commitment to excellence underlies all these efforts.

As such, the EARDA Research Development Program supports the St. Thomas University Mission in several important ways –

  • Fostering a professional research environment that stimulates faculty scholarship
  • Supporting Faculty and Student Research excellence
  • Offers focused support that complements STU academic programs
  • Is student-centered, and supports student involvement in research and scholarship
  • Works with the community to develop partnerships to support the EARDA RDA mission
  • Supports the ethical treatment of Human and Animal participants in research
  • Supports research that represents the diversity of all individuals throughout the community and around the world
