TRIO/Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)
St. Thomas University is hosting a TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). This Federally-funded Educational Opportunity Center provides counseling and information on options to start or complete a college degree. Adults 19 and older from disadvantaged backgrounds – low-income individuals and first-generation college students who live in the areas of North Miami, Opa-locka, and Miami Gardens are eligible to participate. We also serve qualifying individuals with disabilities and veterans from the U.S. military. Qualifying individuals who are looking to start or continue their post-secondary education can take advantage of this FREE service to help identify the best next steps for them.
The Educational Opportunity Center provides tutoring in ACT and SAT test preparation, offers financial aid workshops, helps coordinate campus visits, provides assistance with completing applications for FAFSA as well as applications to colleges and universities, and more.
