National Poetry Month Celebrated by St. Thomas University International Students

On April 18, 2013, the top three creative expressions in the National Poetry Month Celebration   were read by the authors, Doran Joseph, Oriana Chacin, and Javier Aguilar. These three students’ work was evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges, Dr. James Conley, Dr. Marcela Moyano, Rev. Father Luis Rivero, and Professor Pedro Figueredo.

The other twelve students who had submitted a work in the National Poetry Month Celebration Ekphasis: Art-Inspired Poetry were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for their good efforts.

The more than forty attendees at the celebration assembly, which was held in the SEFLIN Room, called for an annual celebration of National Poetry Month, a cooperative effort of International Student & Scholar Services and the University Writing Center.
