Applications are accepted throughout the year for freshmen, transfer, and international students. High School students are strongly encouraged to apply for admission in the fall of their senior year or as early as possible.
How to Apply
- File an application for admission online
Read the important application information and be aware of important dates and deadlines which may affect your application status.
- Make sure you include the $40.00 non-refundable application fee
Payment must be paid or application fee waiver must be uploaded in order for your application to be submitted.
- Obtain official transcripts from your High School transcripts or GED
Students with post-secondary course work must include college transcripts from every institution attended (i.e. Dual Enrollment)
- Obtain official SAT or ACT test results*
Official ACT or SAT scores are required for admission to St. Thomas. Scores appearing on your official high school transcript are acceptable. You can also request to have your test scores sent to St. Thomas directly from the testing agencies. St. Thomas’s codes are:
*Official SAT and ACT scores are not required of International applicants, however it is strongly recommended that either of these tests be taken as the scores will be useful in academic placement.

In Person: Deliver your completed application in person to the Office of Admissions located in Mimi Dooner Hall, room 103.
Please note that all credentials submitted in support of your application become the property of St. Thomas University and will not be released under any circumstance.
Only students having completed 12 credit hours or more from an accredited college or university are considered transfer students and are not required to submit SAT or ACT test scores; only official college transcripts need to be submitted.
Official college/university transcripts must be sent directly to St. Thomas University from the college/university the student is transferring from.
In addition to the above requirements, international applicant must submit all required documents 1 month prior to the beginning of the following semester. International applicants who have attended a university outside of the United States must present a course by course evaluation and official translation of their credentials completed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or endorsed member by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE).

All undergraduate international applicants must demonstrate proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
Minimum official test scores:
- TOEFL iBT® Test: 71
- TOEFL cBT® Test: 197
- IELTS: 5.5
- PTE: 50
Financial Guarantee Form
As required by the United States Government before the issuing of any I-20s, students must submit a Financial Guarantee Form that includes proof of financial support. The Financial Guarantee Form should be supported by:
- Bank Letter/Bank Statement for last 4 months
- Scholarship Award
- Submit copy of your passport information page

Exemption from submitting a TOEFL does not imply exemption from sitting for an additional Test of English Language Proficiency before registration if so required by the school or academic department.
In cases where there is more than one official language listed and English is one of the official languages, the decision has been made to require the TOEFL.
St. Thomas University is committed to your educational pursuit and understands and values your educational experience in China. The University has recently approved Gaokao Examination as the only document that will used in lieu of an English proficiency exam.
Cost of Attendance
Your financial guarantee form must reflect that you have adequate financial support to meet the cost of attendance. Please refer to the annual estimated cost of undergraduate attendance.
