Tuition & Financing your Education
To assist students with the cost of their education, St. Thomas University School of Law offers financial assistance to eligible law students in the form of scholarships, loans and part-time employment. Most assistance is based on financial need; however, some loans and scholarships are available to students regardless of financial need. Financial need is determined by subtracting the expected family contribution from the cost of attendance. Any scholarship awarded to the student will be subtracted from the total cost of attendance to determine the maximum amount of federal and private loans a student may receive.
The University Office of Financial Aid adheres to the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators “Statement of Good Practice” and the Federal processors “Needs Analysis” calculation in determining need-based eligibility. In order to be considered for all federal financial aid at St. Thomas, a student must:
1) File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available on the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov, select St. Thomas University as a recipient of the analysis (St. Thomas University school code is 001468-00);
2) Be admitted to the University and, if already in attendance, be a student in good standing; and
3) Complete all documents required by the Office of Financial Aid.
The University Office of Financial Aid administers the awarding of financial aid. Inquiries regarding all law school scholarships should be made to the Law School Office of Admissions. Inquiries regarding all other financial aid programs should be directed to the St. Thomas University Office of Financial Aid.
