Students, faculty, and staff may dine in the University dining facility, called the Market Place, located in Carroll Hall or the Rathskeller Snack Bar located in the Student Center on a cash basis. Resident students are required to participate in the campus board plan. Non-resident students may purchase commuter mean plans directly from dining services. 

 

The Market Place offers may different selections from which to choose, including:

  • Cafe Features offers home-style meals
  • The Deli Corner contains fresh meats, cheeses, and breads for creating the perfect sandwich
  • Grille Works features pressed sandwiches and wraps
  • World’s Fare celebrates our diversity by offering a worldly selection of menu choices
  • Pan Geos Pasta Kitchen prepares fresh pasta dishes to your liking while you wait
  • Our Salad Bar offers healthy choices of fresh veggies and homemade soup
  • Quench your thirst with a full line of Coca-Cola products, ice-tea, lemonade, milk, or coffeee
  • Sweet Things presents homemade desserts, cakes, fresh fruits and ice-cream

The Rathskeller Snack Bar offers:

  • Hot & cold subs
  • Wings & pizza
  • Grilled items such as burgers & chicken sandwiches
  • French fries & onion wings
  • Salads
  • Fresh baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies 
  • Assorted beverages from Coca Cola
  • For those over age 21 - alcoholic beverages

RULES


All students who reside in the residence halls are required to eat on campus under a board plan. Aramark food services provide a full service food program to the University.

 

Aramark food service assists students with many health needs, including special diets. They will also provide any necessary special diets for students when prescribed and approved in writing by a medical doctor.

 

The food service offers a "Bobcat Dollars" option to enhance the student’s board plan. Students may use this allotment to purchase meals and/or snacks at any on-campus Aramark food service location.

 

Meal Plan changes can usually be made during the first week of each semester. 

 

  1. All resident students must have their ID cards with them to enter the Market Place.
  2. All St. Thomas University community members must have their ID to receive the staff, faculty, and student discount price for meals.
  3. Only resident students with their student ID’s and cash-paying patrons may use the Market Place during regular operating hours.
  4. ID cards and meals are not transferable. If a resident student would like to treat a guest, the resident student can utilize his/her Meal Plan Dollars. The resident student must accompany their guest.
  5. Please report all lost and missing ID cards to Campus Life and Campus Dining Services.
  6. Meals must be eaten in the dining facilities within th Market Place. Only one "to go" box is permitted per person. You may not package your food up to go once you have decided to eat in the facility.
  7. You may leave with one fruit item or ice-cream cone when you are finished eating and are exiting the dining facility. 
  8. No outside containers can be brought into the dining facility to be utilized for the removal of food or beverages.
  9. Paper cups and plastic silverware are to be used for "to-go" meals.
  10. If you prefer to eat on the outside patio area, directly outside the Market Place, you must prepare a "to-go" food box with plastic silverware and paper cups. 
  11. When finished dining, please take your tray to the dish racks before leaving.
  12. The dining facilities on campus DO NOT accept credit cards. Checks are accepted, as well as Bobcat Dollars on your ID card. An ATM machine is located in the lobby of the Student Center.
  13. Do not give your ID card to anyone else to use. Use of another person’s meal plan card will result in disciplinary action.

Guests:

Guests are welcome in our dining facilities when accompanied by students, faculty, or staff with their ID card. If you have a meal plan, you may utilize your meal plan dollars to treat your guest. Again, only cash and check are accepted.
