Description

St. Thomas University Library is dedicated to promoting Information Literacy by helping students and faculty learn the latest in electronic research methods while emphasizing the value of traditional research material. The Library’s goal is to assist its users in understanding how to retrieve information, to become proficient in finding books, scholarly articles and research, and other relevant information. By offering reference assistance, instructions sessions and individual consultations students learn how to locate, acquire, and evaluate relevant information.

Faculty are invited to schedule research/library instruction sessions for a specific class. The session will be tailored to the needs of your class and can range from general introduction to specific subject resources and database searching. When requesting Library instruction, please provide at least two weeks notice, to allow us to contact you about a mutually acceptable date. The extra time also will allow us to discuss with you the needs of your class, allowing for the creation of learning segments tailored to class assignments and syllabi. To schedule a class with a librarian, please contact the Instructional Coordinator Larry Treadwell by phone or email. Please be prepared to provide a copy of the course syllabi and course research assignment.

Students (both individually and in groups) are welcome to contact the librarians to scheduled a session or to receive personalized instruction.
