Dr. Helen Rosenthal, RSCJ
Dr. Helen Rosenthal, RSCJ has her doctorate in Historical Theology from the University of St. Louis. She also has an M.A. in Religious Studies from St. Louis University; a M.A. in Education from the Catholic University of Valparaiso and an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from the same Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile, where she worked as a Missionary from 1960-1980. She has her B.A. from Maryville University in St. Louis and she majored in English with a minor in Philosophy. After attending the Institute for Religious Formation at St. Louis University in 1973-74, she returned to Chile to work full-time in formation for her Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Dr. Rosenthal lives in a community of five in South Miami and has been part of the Institute for Pastoral Ministries at St. Thomas University since 1986. She established the Center for Spirituality, the training Program for Spiritual Directors, and the Post-Masters Program in Spirituality Studies. After serving as Chair of Religious Studies, History and Philosophy for five years, Sister Helen Rosenthal created the International Online Certificate Program in Spirituality Studies in 2001 and has taught students from all over the world.
