MASTER OF ARTS IN PASTORAL MINISTRIES

Rooted in our Catholic heritage and our commitment to ecumenism, this course of study is open to those who wish to grow in a deeper understanding of the foundations of Christian life while developing pastoral skills. We are committed to giving students the confidence of competence through a solid course of study within a diverse learning community that graduates leaders in ecclesial and civil life.

. . .solid course of study
The curriculum is composed of foundational, skills and integrational courses using the method of Practical Theology. Supervised ministry and a major ministerial project are required.

. . .in a diverse learning community
In a word, our students are diverse: in religious heritage, age, professional backgrounds, ethnicity, country of origin. At the same time, they have a common desire to grow personally and to serve their faith communities as leaders.

. . .graduates leaders
Alums are engaged within the church in Diocesan leadership positions; as high school religion teachers, campus ministers, hospital and hospice chaplains, Directors of Religious Education, pastoral associates and pastors. Others are social justice advocates. Still others have continued their studies in theology, ministry and counseling. A few have written books.

Accessibility
Qualified students may begin any semester. All courses are offered in the evening and weekends and in intensive formats to accommodate adult learners. Courses use on-line and video enhancement.
