Graduation Information

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. All student eligible for graduation may participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. Guest at these ceremonies is unlimited.

APPLICATION DEADLINE 
OCTOBER 10th

Students who miss the deadline will not be eligible to participate in the December Ceremony.

Participation in Commencement

The University considers Commencement to be an academic event, and thus available only to students who have either met all requirements for graduation by the date of Commencement or are enrolled in courses which, if successfully completed, will result in all requirements for graduation being met by the date of Commencement.  If a student is unable to participate in commencement, the student may participate in the next scheduled commencement.  In such cases, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain their commencement robes at the time of their originally scheduled commencement.

GRADUATING WITH HONORS

Undergraduates
Graduation honors are calculated based on grade point average for St. Thomas
course work. Only students who have earned 60 credits at St. Thomas are
eligible for Graduation Honors. Graduation honors are: Cum Laude (3.55-3.74);
Magna Cum Laude (3.75-3.89); Summa Cum Laude (3.90-4.00).

Refer to graduation requirements in the 2008/09 Graduate catalog.

DIPLOMAS
Diplomas are not awarded at the time of Commencement. Contact the Office of Records for pick-up/delivery information.

CLASS RINGS
Class rings may be ordered at any time during the year through Jostens @ 1-800
854-7464 or by accessing the web at: www.jostens.com. Rings may also be ordered at the Graduation Expectation Expo (October 6th, 7th, & 11th).

PHOTOGRAPHS AT GRADUATION
Bob Knight Photomarketing, Inc. will photograph graduates as they receive their degrees on stage. A color proof will be emailed 48-hours proceeding the commencement ceremony.
