What Does STU VITA Do?
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a partnership between the Internal Revenue Service and St. Thomas University School of Law. St. Thomas Student volunteers have been providing FREE Income Tax Preparation Assistance to low-income, elderly, disabled, and limited English speaking people for over 28 years within the Miami Gardens community.
Who can benefit from VITA?
STU VITA offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $42,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns.
STU VITA Volunteer's Qualifications -
Our volunteers get free training and certification by the IRS after satisfactorily completing an online exam.
