Visual thinking is as integral to the life of the mind as verbal and numerical discourse. The Art classes are based upon the premise that art education should include the challenge of learning to see. Minor courses in Art areas such as Painting, Drawing, Photography and Design provide students with opportunities for intellectual growth through studies in visual formulation and visual articulation. Further, the education of the artist is dramatically improved by an education in contemporary and interdisciplinary media.

The Minor in Art allows students to:

  • Pursue a career in art or art history
  • Gain knowledge and skills in a specific discipline:

Design: Study graphics & design including digital media
Photography: Concentrate on learning photography techniques and concepts
Studio Art: Become acquainted with different types of studio art such as drawing and painting
