MASTER OF SCIENCE IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION (M.S.)

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Educational Administration comprises courses and experiences designed to develop entry-level competencies in the practice of educational administration. The program incorporates coursework based on the School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards. The course work also addresses the 10 core competencies assessed in the Florida Educational Leadership Examination.

Admission Requirements
Candidates seeking admission to this program must file an application form with the University’s Office of Admissions. A department faculty member reviews each complete application and makes a recommendation on admission to the Office of Admissions. The Office of Admissions notifies applicants of the decision on their applications.

1. Completed and signed application.
2. Official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended with a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate work;
3. Two letters of recommendation
4. At least two years of successful full-time teaching experience and a regular Florida teaching certificate.
5. Completed an Administrator Experience Survey (available at Admissions Office)
6. Take a writing examination to determine proficiency in written language. Based upon performance, the applicant may be admitted fully, admitted probationally pending completion of a writing seminar, or denied admission.
7. An intake interview with a program faculty member.

Graduation Requirements

Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 to remain in academic good standing. Students must complete all required courses with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 to graduate.
