The Institute for Professional Studies

Institute for Professional Studies serves adult students through both traditional and innovative instruction. The Institute offers one masters and two bachelor’s degrees for personal and professional development and responds to the needs of the lifelong learner. The degrees are targeted primarily towards employed persons serving in business, industry, labor, government, health care, and occupational fields serving in the private and non-profit sectors. Students will also learn to address workplace related problems in an information and technological society.

The unique features of the Institute for professional Studies are: 


1. Students can complete their degrees completely online. 

2. Provides access to degree completion to persons who traditionally cannot attend the university’s   traditional programs. This is achieved by providing programs to students at their work sites, after work, online or a combination of such. 

3. Integrates the life and work experiences of its students into their academic learning plans and the curriculum


4. Undergraduate students can earn college credits for work and life experiences through our
Life Experience Portfolio class.

5. Caters to students defined as non-traditional and 23 years or older. 

6. The provision of flexible programming to ensure student success is maximized. 

7. Numerous partnerships with various employers and agencies to facilitate the following for its students: a) the teaching of courses at the students’ workplace and b) tuition re-imbursements. 

9. Undergraduate students who do not meet the 45 transferable credits may participate in our
Pre-Organizational Leadership Program and complete the entire bachelors degree in less than three years!
