Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at the Candler School of Theology, Emory University.  He holds Masters Degrees from St. Meinrad, Indiana, and Indiana Univ., and a Ph.D. in New Testament studies from Yale University.  Hi s newest book, Hebrews A commentary, has been widely acclaimed. Additional books include The Writings of the New Testament: An Interpretation, a text book used widely in colleges and seminaries as well as his recent commentary on Luke-Acts for the Sacra Pagina series from Liturgical Press and commentaries on James and the Pastorals for the Anchor Bible. He has written on the person of Jesus in two widely discussed books, The Real Jesus: the Misguided Quest for the Historical Jesus and the Truth of the Traditional Gospels (1996), and Living Jesus: Learning the Heart of the Gospel (1998).
