The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic (NAIA) released the qualifiers for the 57th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship and St. Thomas University made the list. The tournament was held at Indiana National Golf Club in Plymouth, Indiana, May 13-16, 2008. The Bobcats received an at-large bid due to their recent victory of the Florida Sun Conference Men's Golf Tournament, in which they were champions for the first time since 1998 and were the Region XIV runner up. This year's championship featured 28 teams, included 13 region champions, 14 at-large bids and one host berth, and four individual qualifiers.
The Florida Sun Conference (FSC) named its 2008 postseason honor players at the 2008 NAIA Region XIV Tournament Banquet held at Savannah College of Art and Design's Red Gallery. STU Bobcats Koely Kempisty, Cindy Castrillon and Claritza Valle were named to the FSC All-Conference team. Bobcat Head Coach and Florida Sun Conference softball chair Jeff Norman made the opening remarks at the banquet. The Bobcats finished the season fourth with an overall record of 20-16.
Kempisty was consistent for the Bobcats throughout the season ranking in the top five in 17 of 18 hitting categories. Castrillon was a late addition to the Bobcat team this season because of her role on the basketball team, but it was a welcomed addition. She led the team in homeruns with four, a .575 slugging percentage, and 25 runs batted in. Valle had an aggressive senior season for the Bobcats as she led the team in stolen base attempts and stolen bases. Valle also had the best batting average this season for the Bobcats with .384 batting average.
