Clubs & Organizations
There are many clubs to get involved in at St. Thomas University. Clubs and organizations range in their goals from academic, social, athletic, and awareness raising. If you don’t see the right club for you, think about starting a new club. Also, since new clubs often form check out club fairs and visit the office of student activities to keep updated. Being a part of a campus club or organization can greatly enrich your experience here at St. Thomas.
Academic Clubs
Political Action Club
PAC is open to students of all majors. Meetings are a place for free exchange of ideas concerning current political issues; plan lectures, invite keynote speakers, and conduct campus-wide poles.
Psychology Club
The Psych Club works to promote educational experiences to enhance students understanding of the field of psychology. We also work to build awareness and knowledge. This organization encourages students to apply their knowledge of Psychology to promote the well being of the STU community.
Delta Epsilon Sigma Honors Society
Members with a minimum GPA of 3.55, who display outstanding academic accomplishment through any major, dedication to intellectual activities, and have accepted responsibilitiy of service to others are encouraged to become members.
The Biology Club
Members with a minimum GPA of 3.55, who display outstanding academic accomplishment through any major, dedication to intellectual activities, and have accepted responsibilitiy of service to others are encouraged to become members.
The Empire Club
The purpose of the Biology Club is to promote study in the biological sciences through campus and community involvement. Besides providing new students with a social outlet to become acclimated with St. Thomas University and the School of Science, Technology & Engineering Management, the Club provides students with extracurricular activities.
Cultural Organizations
Association of Latin-American Students
An international organization with a membership that includes countries from Latin America and the Caribbean. The club encourages academic excellence for the Hispanic community while fostering cultural harmony among other ethnic groups. This club sponsors cultural and social activities promoting the interest of Spanish speaking students within the University.
Black Student Union
To Enrich & Preserve the Minority Community, through education, the arts, and cultural awareness, by means of academic, social, economic, political, initiatives that promotes unity and solidarity.
Caribbean Students Association
The STU Caribbean Student Association was initially formed to unite the Caribbean students attending this institution. This organization also creates cohesiveness among all Caribbean islands including other countries so as to enlighten each other about the cultural diversities surrounding us.
Kreyol Nation
Our mission is to unite Haitian students and those interested in Haitian culture. It will produce programs that will expose the Haitian culture to the community of STU. This Interest group will be open to all STU students with an interest in Haitian culture. We also look to expand the Haitian culture throughout STU.
Special Interest Groups
Fashion Club
The Fashion Club is a club for creative people interested in fashion. The fashion club is where trend-conscious students learn about style and fashion. Fashion club members follow the cutting-edge trends and their activities include various fashion shows throughout the year.
Bobcat Fan Club
The Bobcat Fan Club was formed to support the athletic teams and also promote school spirit through attending athletic games off and on campus and supporting the intramurals.
Student Ambassadors
The Student Ambassadors program is coordinated and sponsored by the Office of Admissions. The group consists of current STU students from various ethnic backgrounds and a variety of different disciplines representing the academic programs on campus: business, education, science, communication arts, social sciences & counseling, and pastoral ministries. Their primary purpose is to interact with prospective multiethnic students in order to acquaint them with the University and help them develop an awareness of STU as a school that can meet their educational, cultural, and social needs.

Religious & Ministry Clubs
Voices of Praise
The Voices of Praise is an inter-faith group where students can share and express their view of all religions. This choir is made up of students who are gifted with beautiful voices and enjoy preaching the word of God in graceful melody.
Carpe Spiritum Singers
Carpe Spiritum um Singers of St. Thomas University invites all students who love to sing to become an active part of this group. The Carpe Spiritum Singers perform at various functions throughout the year as well as lead the liturgical celebrations at the University. The members of Carpe Spiritum Singers are culturally diverse and are experienced in singing in many languages and four part harmony. Students who are interested in performing with the Carpe Spiritum Singers may call Maria Perez–Rudisill at (305) 628-6525, e-mail mrudisill@stu.edu, or stop by the Office of Campus Ministry and arrange for an audition/interview. Membership to this group is by audition.

Driftwood
This literary and visual arts magazine publishes poems, short stories, essays, screenplays, and photography submitted by students, faculty, and staff.
St. Thomas Sentinel
The student newspaper, written, edited, designed, and published by students.
