Damage Fees

Fees for damages occurring in residence halls are charged to the responsible individual or group. When this is not possible, all residents of the hall or floor become collectively responsible for the costs involved. Fees may include replacement cost, labor cost, and a charge to deter damage. Damage fines are assessed to student accounts at the end of each semester.


   Failure to clean room $25 or more
   Lost key resulting in a lock change $75 lock change 
   Replace lost key (s) $50 room key + $25 for main door 
   Furniture damage or missing Cost of replacement + $100
   Lock-out fines 1st Free, 2nd and up $10
   Failure to clean/microwave/refrigerator (Villanova) $30 or more
   Failure to restore furniture back $50 or more
   Improper trash disposal $25 per bag
   Paint Room $200 or more
   Patch and Paint holes $100 per wall/area or more
   Sand/varnish door $200
   Remove stickers $50 or more
   Replace window screw(s) $30 or more
   Replace (1) window pane  Cost of replacement + $50
   Replace (1) window screen Cost of replacement + $25
   Replace door Cost of replacement + $100
   Replace blinds $100 or more
   Replace (1) ceiling tile $50 or more
   Carpet changing/cleaning $100 or more
   Replace door peep hole $25
   Use of illegal use of appliances in room (hotplates, rice cooker, electric kettle, cooking, hot plates toaster ovens,
   George Foreman grills, freezers, or any open coil appliances, and candles)
   Tampering with fire safety Equipment $750 or more
   Replace floor tiles $150 or more
   Vandalism $250 or more
   Tampering with elevators $750 or more
   Tampering with hurricane shutters $300
   Unauthorized stay-over charge $100
   Improper checkout (failure to schedule and complete check-out with staff) $250
   Blockage of air conditioning/heating vents $50
