Introduction to Legal Studies Program
Introduction to Legal Studies is a three-week, non-credit program offered to all admitted students and a select group of students seeking to be admitted. The program offers an introduction to the study of law that will allow you to gain a head start on acquiring skills essential to succeed in law school.
One legal topic is taught each week by a different faculty member. At the end of each week, students will be tested on the material covered that week. The classes and the examinations will introduce you to the teaching and testing methodologies used in law school.
The purpose of this three week course is to expose you to a new way of learning. We will provide you all the materials for the course. You will receive the materials for the first week of class via e-mail. The materials for each of the subsequent subjects will be provided after the Saturday exam of the preceding week.
Students who are in the top 5% of the class at the end of the program will earn a one-time $5,000.00 scholarship award. Students in the top 20% at the end of the program will earn a one-time $2,000.00 scholarship award.
