The Monastery continues to serve as an official Royal Residence, a University, and repository for one of the most important library collections in Europe. This is where you will study. The university has a fully equipped gym, an Olympic sized pool, and tennis courts all at your disposal. St. Thomas University shares this facility with the University of Madrid Summer Program, so you will also meet with Spanish students in the halls after class or in the University’s own bar. El Escorial is a fashionable town filled with galleries, museums, shops, and cafes. In July the town explodes with daily cultural events including rock concerts, jazz ensembles, plays, classical music concerts, art exhibits and much more.
