Dr. Rocha’s academic and professional background includes 15+ years of international experience in higher education, academia, research, teaching, and industry with some of the top universities in the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America (State University of New York at Buffalo, University of Miami, Florida International University, Tec de Monterrey in México, Adolfo Ibañez School of Management in Chile and the U.S., University of the West Indies, Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business in Mt. Hope, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, IPADE Business School in México, and St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida) and companies (Hewlett-Packard, Latin American Headquarters, Wihuri Oy Witraktor-Caterpillar Finland, Consolidated Parts Distributors of Canada, LTD., Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria-Compass Bank, and Robert Allen Law among others).

Dr. Rocha has extensive top management and executive experience, and he served on the faculty and administration of the largest private educational system in Latin America: the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education University System (Tec de Monterrey - ITESM) where he held several top executive higher education and academic positions in the US, Mexico, and Latin America, and taught a number of courses at the Executive MBA, International MBA, Executive Programs, and undergraduate levels. 

Dr. Rocha’s research focus is on knowledge management and knowledge sharing in highly dynamic changing environments such as disaster management, high tech entrepreneurship, management of disruptive innovation, and corporate social responsibility. His research yields novel insights that enhance organizations’ performance and the effectiveness and efficiency of teams facing uncertain task characteristics in knowledge management and knowledge sharing. He has presented his research internationally at conferences and universities in Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Furthermore, Dr. Rocha has received a range of awards including the Florida International University Ph.D. Dissertation Fellowship Award from 2008 to 2010 for his research work in knowledge sharing in disaster management. In addition, Dr. Rocha is a regular reviewer for the Academy of Management, American Conference of Information Systems, and International Conference of Information Systems. Today, as an alumnus of MDSA, Dr. Rocha is an active volunteer and supporter of the Ph.D. Project.

Dr. Rocha is heavily involved with South Florida and Latin America business community serving in several Boards of Directors such as the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Inter-American Chapter. He is an avid serial entrepreneur and co-owner of Swim, Bike, and Run, Multisport and Beyond, LLC., and managing partner and owner of RMC Global Consulting, LLC. In addition, he has worked closely with senior executives at a number of Fortune 500 companies. When Dr. Rocha is not in the classroom or conducting research, he facilitates and provides guidance to corporations and nonprofit organizations in turn around management, corporate social responsibility programs, and high performance teams, and he is a frequent public speaker to social service groups.

Finally, Dr. Rocha's is a 70.3 Half Ironman finisher and he has completed more than 45 Sprint and Olympic Distance Triathlons (swim, bike, and run) in the US and the Caribbean. Also, he is an active member of South Florida Triathletes Hammerheads Club, Tri-Strong Triathlon Club, and USA Triathlon. In his spare time, he is an avid sailor and he likes to practice Vinyasa Yoga, Traveling, Reading, and Music.
