ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY GRAD LEADS TEAM TO COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP
Miami, Fl June 25, 2009 St. Thomas University Sports Administration alumnus Paul Mainieri, led the LSU Tigers to the 2009 College World Series Championship last night. Mr. Mainieri began his baseball coaching career as head coach of the STU Bobcats in 1983. In six seasons, his team went 179-121-1, and Mr. Mainieri became one of the most successful coaches at St. Thomas University.
“We are proud that his roots at St. Thomas University contributed to this outstanding achievement,” says Dr. Jan Bell, Director of the Sports Administration program. “Receiving his Master of Science degree in Sports Administration expanded his leadership skills early in his career. He is the kind of role model we think of as we explain St. Thomas’s mission of developing leaders for life.”
