A nonprofit organization

The only Catholic Archdiocesan-sponsored university in Florida, St. Thomas University is a private, non-profit university that offers 39 undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees at its 144-acre Miami Gardens campus and through distance learning. STU provides degrees that are designed to produce the most sought-after graduates in high demand, contemporary industries. STU's academic portfolio includes one of the oldest (and highest ranked) undergraduate programs in Sports Administration in the country.

STU strives to prepare its students to be leaders in every area of their lives--professionally, personally, and spiritually. When they arrive on STU's campus, students find a campus community that is diverse and inclusive, rich in tradition, and ripe with opportunity. The University has a deep history of academic excellence, and it is distinctly progressive in its outlook: we embrace new concepts and technologies and carry out impressive research programs in a wide variety of disciplines.

STU has been ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report in Social Mobility for regional universities in the South, which means it takes students from the lowest financial strata and catapults them to much higher financial strata in only 10 years. In the last year, STU also recruited the largest incoming undergraduate class and raised the most money in the university's history.
