After serving as St. Thomas Law’s Director of Student Services from 2006 to 2010, Peter Kelly was named Assistant Dean for Alumni Relations in October 2010.
Since then, Dean Kelly has increased the overall engagement of St. Thomas Law alumni through annual receptions around the State of Florida, as well as in Washington, D.C., and New York City. Peter has established an alumni association and an alumni council, and has also invited many graduates back to campus to speak to current students on topics ranging from alternative legal careers to professionalism to starting one’s own practice.
Peter obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law, where he was Student Commencement Speaker. While in law school, Peter worked as a law clerk at Catholic University’s Office of the General Counsel. Upon his law school graduation, Peter served as a legal analyst at the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Office of Judges Programs, in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, Peter advised several federal district courts of legal and administrative policy changes with regard to implementation of the electronic case filing system, and he performed various research projects for federal rules advisory committees. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Classics at Cornell University, Peter lived in Guangzhou, China, and taught English at Guangdong Pui Ching College. Alumni Relations Coordinator
Having worked in higher education since 2011, Stephanie Theile joined the Office for Alumni Relations in July 2012 as the Alumni Relations Coordinator.
Stephanie is responsible for coordinating logistics for all alumni-related events on and off campus, managing the alumni database, and tracking alumni donations throughout the year. She updates the St. Thomas Law mobile app and keeps alumni informed through social media and frequent alumni e-notifications. Along with Assistant Dean Kelly, Stephanie handles graduate updates, inquiries and suggestions, and provides general customer service to the school’s growing alumni base. Prior to her role in alumni relations, Stephanie was a Registration and Financial Aid Assistant in the law school’s student affairs office.
A 2010 graduate of St. Thomas University, Ms. Theile received her B.A. in Psychology, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Management Program at St. Thomas University’s School of Business.
