Share Your Success, Give to St. Thomas Law

The support of law school alumni, alumnae, and friends is the key to future success. If you would like to give, you may Make an On-Line Gift. The message below discusses some of the ways your gifts can make a difference.

A Message on Giving from Dean Douglas Ray

On behalf of the St. Thomas Law community, I thank you for all you do to share your success with our students. Many of you serve as mentors and advisors and others recommend our students to judges seeking clerks and to lawyers with positions to fill. Others recommend our school to prospective students. Today, more than ever, your financial support is important as well. Your gifts to the Annual Fund will have an immediate and direct impact on the quality of the education we provide, on the reputation of your law school, and on the opportunities available to our students. Your support will make a difference in their lives.

The Annual Fund

Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are put to work immediately to support ongoing programs and new initiatives. These gifts enable us to meet our most pressing needs and to continue to offer a high quality legal education.

The Annual Fund supports:
  • Scholarships to students who might otherwise not be able to attend
  • Resources for clinical and public interest programs
  • Support for moot court, trial advocacy, and law journal activities
  • Conferences, distinguished speakers,  and symposia that help us expand our students’ horizons
  • Career and Professional Development programs that help our students build their futures
  • Law Library acquisitions that keep us up to date
Every gift matters!

Other Types of Gifts

Other giving opportunities include endowing a fund to support scholarships, faculty research, clinic activities, or the law library, naming gifts which leave a legacy by naming offices, suites, etc. within the law school, and planned gifts which empower you to accomplish charitable gifts, provide for your current needs and ensure you can pass on assets to your loved ones. Often, a planned gift combined with a current gift will allow you to achieve your goals while having an immediate impact on the success of the School of Law. If you are interested in any of these types of gift, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss options with you and can be reached at dray@stu.edu, by phone at (305) 474-2448, or by mail at:

A Sincere Thank You

To all who have donated in the past, I thank you on behalf of our students. You have helped the law school progress and helped our students serve the community. Your past and future gifts will set an example for others and demonstrate the value you place on your legal education in preparing you for a career of serving others. I look forward to working with you.
