Judge Lisa S. Walsh was appointed to the County Court by Governor Charlie Crist in February, 2008. She is assigned to the civil division in the North Dade Justice Center. Before her appointment, Judge Walsh practiced law for sixteen years, in both the trial and appellate state and federal courts. She handled over 300 appeals in a wide range of areas, including criminal, real estate, administrative, general civil and matrimonial law.
Judge Walsh also served as a Special Master for the City of Miami Beach, where she heard building, code, and fire violations for the city. Judge Walsh was the President of Miami-Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers, served as Vice-Chair of a Florida Bar Grievance committee, was on the Board of Directors for Legal Services of Greater Miami, was a member of the Florida Bar Criminal Executive Council and was a mentor as part of “Big Brothers/ Big Sisters.” Currently, she serves on the Florida Bar Appellate Rules Committee, and is a mentor for Educate Tomorrow. Ms. Walsh obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Northwestern University and her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
