Jay Cohen

Jay Cohen represents individuals and families who suffer due to the negligence of others. His experience has earned him membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates.  He has also been recognized by his peers, having been named one of Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite™, Florida Super Lawyers® and The Best Lawyers in America for the a number of years.  

Jay has won large jury verdicts in medical malpractice and complex commercial cases in Florida.  Providing a somewhat unique aspect to his practice together with a beneficial perspective, Jay represents Universal Health Services, Inc.’s Florida Hospitals in all of their litigation.  UHS, Inc. is one of the largest hospital corporations in the U.S.  

He is involved in numerous bar association activities and was elected to serve as a member of The Florida Bar’s Board of Governors.  He was an adjunct professor of law at Nova Southeastern University Law School and is currently a member of the St. Thomas University School of Law adjunct faculty.  He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida.  Jay was an undergraduate at the University of Florida and received his J.D. at South Texas College of Law.
