Adjunct Professor of Law

B.A. University of California, San Diego, 1974
M.S. CPA DePaul University
J.D. Georgetown University Law Center, 1982

After receiving his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, Milton Hirsch joined the Office of the State Attorney in Miami-Dade County Florida, and rose to assistant chief of narcotics prosecution. Since entering private practice, he has handled some of Miami's most notorious and controversial criminal cases. Milt is a past president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Miami chapter, and is named in The Best Lawyers in America. Additionally, he is listed as one of South Florida’s top lawyers in Miami Metro Magazine. At the request of the Florida Court Education Council’s Publications Committee, Milt co-authored (with the Hon. Martin Kahn) the Criminal Bench Guide for Circuit Judges. The Bench Guide is issued to and used in court by every criminal judge in the state.

In October of 2004, Milt’s novel The Shadow of Justice won the 2004 first-place award presented by the Midwest Independent Publishers Association in the mystery/suspense category, and was named as a finalist for the 2005 Benjamin Franklin Award in the category of Best New Voice (Fiction).
