Josef Klee, Ph.D.

Adjunct Professor of Law

Josef Klee studied economics and business administration at the universities of Hamburg and Munich. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Munich.

He started his career as a management consultant with a German trade association.

In 1965, he joined an international management consulting firm in Chicago. As a principal in the German subsidiary he consulted German and international companies in the areas of management restructuring, human resources and business logistics. 

From 1976-1995, Dr. Klee served as a manager in the United Nations Secretariat in charge of various management functions in the Office of Personnel and in Management Advisory Services. His final assignment involved the establishment of the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services.

After retiring from the United Nations in 1995, he served as an adviser to the United Nations Global Compact Office. 

Since 1995, he serves as an adviser and delegate of the Holy See Mission to the United Nations.

Dr. Klee’s academic background includes teaching assignments at the German universities of Duesseldorf and Wuerzburg, and as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, Seton Hall University.

He has published four books and more than 60 articles on management topics.
