Professor Roza Pati Participates in State Department Event Releasing the 2014 Trafficking in Persons Report

Invited by Secretary of State John Kerry, Professor Roza Pati participated in the event releasing the 2014 Trafficking In Persons Report, convened at the Franklin Room in the Department of State, Washington D.C.

At the event, Professor Pati also met briefly with Congressman Chris Smith, Special Representative on human trafficking for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and with Ambassador Luis CdeBaca, Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State.

One of the ten world heroes in combating human trafficking, honored by Secretary Kerry this year, is Monica Boseff, director of Open Door Foundation—a shelter for human trafficking survivors in Romania, with whom Professor Pati has cooperated in Bucharest, Romania. 

In coordination with the Romanian-American University, Professor Pati has provided training and expertise to the shelter attorneys and social service staff. She stated that it was an honor to be personally invited by Secretary Kerry to such an important event.
