St. Thomas Law volunteering in the community
St. Thomas University School of Law recently partnered with HandsOn Broward to kick off the school year with a Back-to-School Preschool Makeover. St. Thomas Law students, alumni, and staff worked together to give the LES Preschool, in Hollywood, Florida, a fresh new look. Volunteers picked up rollers and brushes to paint the exterior of the preschool, helped plant a garden, and added a privacy mesh to the perimeter fence making the preschool ready to start a new school year. This Pro Bono Community Event was coordinated by Jennifer Portwood Gordon, Director of Pro Bono and Public Interest Career Counselor at St. Thomas Law. St. Thomas law students provide over 15,000 hours volunteer service a year and each month the school will partner with a different local organization in the community to give back and make a difference.
