Prospective Students of Law
Miami, home of St. Thomas University School of Law, is not only an international gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean but also is a center of global commercial, financial and cultural activity, making it a well-suited laboratory for our international programs, including our LL.M. tracks in intercultural human rights and international taxation.
Our dean, Alfredo Garcia, is the first Cuban-born dean to lead a U.S. law school. A prolific author and an experienced administrator and legal practitioner, Dean Garcia also has more than twenty years of higher education teaching experience.
While St. Thomas is the only Catholic Archdiocesan-sponsored university in Florida, we embrace students of all faiths and are proud of our record of diversity, which has been ranked among the best by accredited law schools.

Leanne Polk ’01

Personal Bio:
I’m Leanne Polk, a graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law. I have worked for the law school as an Admissions Advisor for the past six years. In addition to advising students on the admissions process and the law school experience, I am a practicing attorney, holding licenses in Florida and Texas. When I was a law student, I was a member of Law Review and I was on the Moot Court Board. I was also a Dean’s Fellow teaching assistant for Civil Procedure, one of the first-year classes, and a research assistant for the Legal Writing Department. I absolutely loved my experience at St. Thomas and really enjoy helping our current and future students get the most out of their law school experience. If I can help you with any questions about St. Thomas Law School, the admissions process, or how to make the most of your law school experience, please let me know! Send me an e-mail now!
