Minor in Communication Arts

The goal of the Communication Arts minor is to enable students to excel in their fields of study through the development of effective communication skills, which are essential components for professional success.

Program Learning Outcomes:

1.  Students will acquire and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
2.  Students will develop and integrate the ability to write in an articulate, complex, and clear manner.

Outcomes Measurement: Upon graduation, students will submit a final essay to their minor advisor consisting of a reflection on (1) how communication courses developed their critical thinking, oral and writing skills and (2) how their learning experience influenced their work in their major field. 

3.  Students will develop skills to express themselves orally in a clear, articulate and intelligent manner in a variety of situations.

Outcome Measurement: Upon graduation, students will submit an electronic oral delivery (video or audio podcast) of their written report.
