| St. Thomas University has been a United States Government Depository Library since 1966. The library is one of 1400 Federal Depository Libraries in the U.S. and one of only nine in Southeast Florida. This collection is located on the first floor of the Library, adjacent to the Reference Collection.
The Government Documents Collection of over 35,000 documents covers a vast array of subjects including Business & Trade, Education, Health, Environmental Studies, Labor, Justice, and Foreign Affairs. The collection also includes Congressional Records and Hearings, publications of the Library of Congress, and maps of all countries. It is a premier source for statistical data to support student and faculty research.
In recent years government agencies have made vast amounts of their information available to the public in electronic format. Many of recent publications issued by federal government’s departments and agencies are available via the World Wide Web; many of these Web documents may be access via our library catalog. In addition to print and electronic resources, several publications have been issued in CD-ROM and microfiche formats.
Material processed in Federal Depositories since January of 1994 can be found via the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications, a Website maintained by the Government Printing Office (GPO) .
