Reference is on the first floor of the library and to the right as you enter past circulation. It comprises several sections, including the Reference Book collection and the Government Documents collection. Here is specialized non-circulating material, including subject based encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other thematic sources supporting those seeking factual knowledge, statistical data, and/or the formulation of ideas for research.
The department also provides access to print and electronic indexes to help you find relevant journal, magazine, and newspaper articles. We also provide access to full-text articles through electronic databases, although this source is still insignificant compared to the wealth of material available through traditional sources such as our journal collection of over 900 titles, and our resource sharing (interlibrary loan) arrangements with other libraries.
We are geared to teaching students and faculty how to locate and access all types of material to become self-sufficient learners and researchers. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask someone. And we always welcome you to make an appointment for a more personalized research consultation.
