Selected Topics in International Law
Law 700A1 (3 credits)

This course is an introductory study of international law. First, this course will consider some of the theoretical underpinnings of the international legal system and examine its history. Students will study “source” doctrine, or the process by which international legal rules come into existence and become binding. Other topics include: international law and municipal law, international courts, individuals and international law, international organizations, human rights, and the regulation of the use of force in international relations.
