Master of Divinity Admissions
The Master of Divinity Degree is the classic professional degree for ministerial leadership. This 72 credit hour degree program can be completed in four years. While ordained ministry is the most common career path for those pursuing the M. Div. it is not the only one. This degree can also prepare you for careers in counseling, in non-profit and social service agencies, in campus-ministry, and in chaplaincy whether in hospitals, prisons, the military or any of the many other contexts where chaplains’ service is needed.
M.Div. courses are structured with the working adult in mind. Classes are scheduled in a night and weekend format and can be partially completed through synchronous distance learning. Students enrolled in our program represent a variety of Christian denominations. The Divinity program at St. Thomas University is connected to the work of the School of Theology and Ministry’s Ecumenical Institute and continues the ecumenical tradition of the former Florida Center for Theological Studies.
