Carolyn Osiek is Charles Fischer Catholic Professor of New Testament at Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University. She holds a doctorate in New Testament and Christian Origins from Harvard University, and is a past president of the Catholic Biblical Association and the Society of Biblical Literature. She is editor of the fifteen-volume Message of Biblical Spirituality series (published by Michael Glazier/Liturgical Press), and is a former associate editor of The Bible Today and New Testament Book Review Editor of the Catholic Biblical Quarterly. She is the author of Beyond Anger: On Being a Feminist in the Church (1986) and What Are They Saying about the Social Setting of the New Testament? (revised edition, 1992), both published by Paulist Press.

Dianne Bergant is Professor of Old Testament Studies at Catholic Theological Union. Dianne Bergant examines how ancient Israel functioned in the past and how it can be meaningful in the present. She is also concerned about how critical tools of modern scholarship can serve a theological goal. Her research interests include biblical theology and interpretation, the integrity of creation, feminism and liberationist perspectives, and world mission. She is author of People of the Covenant and Preaching the New Lectionary: Cycles A,B,& C .

Professor of Sacred Scripture (Old Testament) A.B., College of the Holy Cross; M.Div., Weston Jesuit School of Theology; M.A., Vanderbilt University; Ph.D., Vanderbilt University. Fr. Endres, Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Jesuit School, teaches courses in Psalms, Wisdom and Deuterocanonical Books, Intertestamental Literature and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He also leads study tours and pilgrimages for his students to places like Turkey and Israel. Fr. Endres’ is past-president of the Catholic Biblical Association. He served as associate editor for the Catholic Biblical Quarterly from 1993-2000; has co-authored A Retreat with Psalms: Resources for Personal and Communal Prayer (New York/Mahwah, N.J.: Paulist Press, 2001) and Chronicles and Its Synoptic Parallels in Samuel, Kings and Related Biblical Texts (Collegeville, MN: Liturgical Press, 1998); and has published numerous articles in theological publications

Robert O’Toole Ph.D. S.J.

Fr. Bob O’Toole, S.J. was born in St. Louis and entered the Jesuits in 1954; he followed the usual course of studies and was ordained a priest in June of 1967. He holds advanced degrees in Greek and Latin, philosophy and theology and did his licentiate and doctorate in the Sacred Scriptures at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. His dissertation director was the then Fr. Carlo Maria Martini, S.J., who later became Cardinal-Archbishop of Milan. Bob taught at St. Louis University for 17 years and in 1991 was moved to the Biblical Faculty at the Biblicum, where he was also Superior of the community and then Rector of the Institute. He has published four books and over 50 articles on biblical topics; he has also done numerous book reviews. In September of 2003, he was named the President of the Gregorian University Foundation.

NY: Peter Lang, 2000. He serves as a mentor in the Hispanic Theological Initiative.

Frank J. Matera is the Andrews-Kelly-Ryan Professor of Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America, in Washington DC., as well as a priest of the Archdiocese of Hartford. Father Matera is a past president of the Catholic Biblical Association of America and the author of several books and scholarly articles. He has written commentaries on Galatians and 2 Corinthians, and a series of books on various aspects of New Testament Theology: New Testament Ethics: The Legacies of Jesus and Paul (1996); New Testament Christology (1999); New Testament Theology: Exploring Diversity and Unity (to be published in 2007 by Westminster John Knox Press)
Barbara E. Reid O.P. Ph.D.

Barbara Reid, as a Dominican biblical scholar, is a Professor of New Testament Studies at Catholic Theological Union. She has a keen interest in relating the study of the scriptures with the ministry of preaching. Her work on the parables and on women in the Gospel of Luke makes current feminist biblical scholarship available to preachers, teachers, and pastoral ministers. She is the author of Choosing the Better Part? Women in the Gospel of Luke and Parables for Preachers.
