STU Youth Rally and Relics Honoring Blessed John Paul II
STU will be host to local Catholic high schools Tuesday, November 5, when the 1st Class Relics of Saint-to-be John Paul II are received on campus to be displayed in the Chapel of Saint Anthony. This is the first ever gathering of Catholic students (8th grade, high schools, and colleges) to honor the beloved Pontiff, who established World Youth Day and touched so many in his years serving the Universal Church in the See of Peter.
Remembering his continuous concern and ongoing addresses to world’s youth and his affection to young people, the Office of Campus Ministry at St. Thomas University, directed by Rev. Luis Rivero, has organized a youth rally, an educational and spiritual program that will also be exciting and fun-filled, to continue his legacy. Students will have a great time as they learn about the life of Blessed John Paul II, have the opportunity to get close to the saint-to-be through the relics, and experience a Holy Mass celebrated by the most reverend Fernando Isern, Bishop Emeritus of Pueblo Colorado. The event will take place at the Fernandez Family Center starting at 10:00 a.m. Student buses will depart campus around 1:00 pm when activities are over.
