Judge Thomas Logue sits on the Third District Court of Appeal of Florida. He has heard thousands of appeals and authored hundreds of judicial opinions in areas including administrative law, civil rights, contracts, criminal law, divorce, family, federal and Florida constitutional law, jurisdiction, probate, real property, tax, torts, trusts, wills, and zoning.

His opinions have addressed the employment status of Uber drivers, the parental rights of a woman whose former partner had a child using reproductive technology, the constitutionality of issuing citations based on cameras at traffic lights, and the propriety of a judge hearing a case in which one of the lawyers was her Facebook “friend.” He serves on the faculty of Florida Judges College where he teaches jurisdiction.

Before becoming a judge, for thirty years he tried cases and argued appeals in both the federal and Florida trial and appellate courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Florida Supreme Court. He appeared before numerous federal and Florida administrative boards, including the Florida cabinet. He drafted state and local legislation and negotiated major contracts. His Martindale-Hubbell rating is AV, the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethics.

Judge Logue received a B.A. in English Literature, cum laude, from Dickinson College and a J.D. from Duke University, where he served on the editorial board of the Duke Law Journal. He lives in Coral Gables, Florida, with his wife. They have three daughters.
