Counseling at St. Thomas University
The Student Health Center is located in the Student Center (between the baseball field and the cafeteria) in the south end of the building near the Rathskeller.
There is no cost to St. Thomas University Students for counseling services.
Individual therapy offered at St. Thomas University is a 30-45 minute session with a licensed professional. Students may receive up to eight counseling sessions per semester. Students who need more than eight counseling sessions may receive an off campus referral based on the student’s preferences and needs. Counseling is available for all St. Thomas University students.

Appointments are not required for your sessions; however, it is recommended that you contact the counselor via email (firstname.lastname@example.org
) to ensure that she is able to meet with you during your available time. Walk-ins are welcome, but may need to wait to be seen if Ms. Oramas is with meeting with another student. Please note, Health & Wellness only communicates with St. Thomas University students through their STU email accounts.
Counseling records are kept strictly confidential and separate from the student's academic and medical records. Student information/records are not disclosed without the student's written consent, except in life threatening situations. Additionally, contact between counselor and student will be initiated by the student; the counselor does not contact or disclose that a student is seeing a counselor.
