Housing Officer 


Under the general supervision of the Associate VP of Student Affairs/Director of Residential Life , this position assists in the overall management of approximately 480 beds by administering all housing assignments and billing processes, room changes, fines, furniture and key inventory and deposit refunds. Working closely with the Assoc. VP of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life to provide support and documentation of the housing system and various aspects of the assignment and billing process. The Housing Officer is the primary administrator of the residential life and housing database software and is the liaison for online maintenance requests, as well as Business Office, Admissions and Financial Aid requests.

The Housing Officer monitors Residential Assistants (RA’s) and conducts weekly staff meetings, monitors RA staff performance and implements progressive discipline as needed with the approval of the Assoc VP of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life. The selected candidate will be well organized and able to work under pressure with multiple constituents and changing deadlines. To be successful in this position, the individual must have excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, administrative skills and demonstrated experience with taking initiative. Knowledge of Datatel/Ellucian and StarRez Softwares a plus.

Residence on Campus is available at no cost if desired, but not mandated, but incumbent must be available for weekends or nighttime hours if needed.


Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Accounting or related field with two years experience in accounting, cashiering or collections, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Demonstrated success with customer service and experience with Microsoft Office Software Package (specifically Excel and Access) and Datatel is highly desirable. Working positively in a diverse environment is required as well as the ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
