STU Thriving in Ministry Program Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

Thriving in Ministry is an STU Program seeking to engage and provide formation to ministry students, pastors, and all clergy to create and sustain flourishing, multiethnic faith communities. The program provides resources through spiritual discernment and ongoing educational and formational needs while collaborating with leaders of faith communities on broad societal concerns central to congregations and their members today. The goal of our project is to develop a sustainable model for connecting with pastoral leaders interconfessionally, interculturally, and intergenerationally, and thus helping them be equipped to thrive in ministry in a time seemingly characterized by disruption, polarization, and limitation.

This part-time position (20 hours a week) is charged with coordinating the site details of the monthly cohort gatherings, both onsite at STU and in other regional sites when applicable. The position will also be responsible for duties assigned by the program director who is the direct supervisor of the program associate. The position requires the ability and background to help facilitate ecumenical dialogue and programming as well as assisting in the recruitment of local Christian pastors and ministers to participate in future cohorts of the Thriving in Ministry program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • A knowledge of Christian teaching and ecumenical dialogue
  • Ability to work On-Site
  • Familiarity with office administrative duties and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to help in recruitment of participants to the program
