Women’s Golf Coach (Part-time)

Position Summary:

St. Thomas University (a Catholic University) located in Miami Gardens, FL is seeking qualified candidates for the position of part-time Women’s Golf Coach. Duties entail establishing a new Women’s Golf program in all facets of administration within an elite conference of NAIA Women’s Golf.


This position requires a commitment to recruiting at least 10 quality student-athletes for full participation in Fall 2019. With this, the coach must have a strong ability to recruit and attract players to participate in collegiate women’s golf. The coach must also be able to articulate proper player evaluation, practice planning and implementation, monitoring and reconciling expenditures of budgeted funds, scheduling of tournaments, and fund-raising. A high level of commitment to the academic mission of the athletics department is required, along with leadership toward the spiritual, personal and athletic development of student-athletes. Prior to hiring, candidate will need to successfully complete a federal background check, be approved to drive minors and complete the NAIA Champions of Character online course.

Qualifications: Bachelor´s degree with a master´s preferred. The candidate should have 3 years of coaching experience with recruitment or sales knowledge. Position requires travel and irregular work hours demanding a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.  The successful candidate must have a clear understanding of and be committed to the NAIA philosophy including the Champions of Character program, and the role of athletics within the University´s mission.

December 20, 2018 Beginning in Fall 2019, St. Thomas University (STU) will introduce South Florida’s first and only Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS) degree program. STU’s MSMS will be presented in partnership with Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) through Tiber Health Innovation and will be taught by PHSU’s medical school faculty and STU’s science faculty. St. Thomas Law wins National ABA Labor Law Trial Competition, Two Years in a Row

January 29, 2019 For the second year in a row, St. Thomas University School of Law’s trial team was crowned the 2019 ABA Labor and Employment Law National Trial Competition champions. The annual national competition was held from January 26-27 in New Orleans, La., and featured six law schools from around the country – William & Mary, UCLA, Washington University, Brooklyn Law, SMU School of Law and St. Thomas University School of Law; all champions in their own regions.
